Alumnus Named GM of Texas Rangers

On Wednesday, the Rangers named Jon Daniels ‘99 their new General Manager. At 28 years old, he is 9 months younger than Theo Epstein when he was named GM by the Boston Red Sox.
According to the Daily Sun, Daniels started work at the Colorado Rockies in 2001, and has been with the Rangers organization since 2001, as baseball operations assistant, then promoted to director of baseball operations. Read more coverage at the Rangers’ website.
Texas finished in third place in the American League West, with a record of 79–83, for a .488 win percentage, and a whopping 16 games behind the division-winning LA Angels of Anaheim.
