Duffield’s Schnauzer Gives $1.7 million to Vet School

According to this CU press release, Maddie’s fund has awarded the Vet School $1.7 million for a shelter medicine program:

The fund was started by David Duffield ‘62, MBA ‘64, and his wife, Cheryl, in honor of Maddie, the couple’s miniature schnauzer, their pet for 10 years. The couple has spent more than $33 million to date saving the lives of unwanted cats and dogs

The goal is to educate veterinarians and train vet students in the field of shelter medicine, helping to care for homeless animals.
