My (hopefully mail-generating) question of the month: If you buy a couple a gift off their wedding registry, do you want them to know exactly how much you spent? Or is it better to try to come up with a gift not on the registry, and thus risk having one’s gift be laughed about for eternity for its possible strangeness and/or, you never know, hideousness?

Speaking of veils and lace, let’s start off with the Wedding Watch. Melanie Hamill married Andrew Harmon in October 1999 in Connecticut . Guests included Lauren Wein, Lauren Bergida, Tara O’Grady ‘97, Laura Wiltse, Wendy Verret, Maureen Richardson, and Tamar Duvdevani.

Wedding Two: Chandra Kistner married Jonathan Gobbetti Hoffman on July 15, ‘00 in Bryn Athyn Cathedral in Bryn Athyn , PA. If you’re addicted to the New York Times Sunday wedding announcements, you’ll appreciate the factette that this cathedral was built by the bride’s great-grandfather.

Wedding Three: Rachel Ravitz and Andrew Goodman exchanged vows on Sept. 16, ‘00 . The couple honeymooned in Hawaii . And happy anniversary to Lori Schwartz Frischer, who married Jason ‘95 on May 29, ‘99. Lori is working at Salomon Smith Barney and going to Fordham’s business school, while Jason is a surgical resident at Mt. Sinai. Lori reports that Kim Chinsky, Melissa Gellert, and Meri Resnick are studying at Wharton, Kellogg, and Duke b-schools, respectively.

Nelson Quim returned from a four-month stay in Wales, where he led a global capital project for Dow Corning Corp. “I was able to do a lot of personal travel on the weekends, got to visit Cardiff, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Lisbon, and much, much more,” he writes. Edie Marshall graduated from Washington State ‘s College of Veterinary Medicine and started her first job at a companion animal clinic north of Seattle . She also spent ten days in Guadelajara , Mexico , at the International Vet Student Assn. Summer Congress, apparently working very hard: “Visiting the Taverna Jose Cuervo was the best part, lots of great margaritas in a 200-year-old hacienda,” she says.

As most of us (right?) are preparing to return to the Hill (read: the Palms) for Reunion this summer, Dana Henry, MA IN T ‘00, just left. She finished her MAT at Cornell and began working as a naturalist at an environmental education center on Long Island . She reports that Paige Graziano, DVM ‘99, is happily practicing veterinary medicine in Middleboro, MA, and that Nikki Grupka is out in Los Angeles , doing her residency in pathology at Cedars Sinai. Jennifer Grant is collaborating with Becky DeVito ‘97 on a children’s history book—the words are Becky’s and the illustrations are Jennifer’s. No listing on amazon.com just yet, but we’ll keep you posted.

Random news bits: Ed Watson started his MBA at the U. of Chicago; Mark Milleman, that’s Dr. Milleman to you, started his residency in urology in Milwaukee; and Dana Lipton left New York City for even more expensive turf: Silicon Valley. She’s working as a marketing manager at Commtouch.

Keep in touch, and hope to see you all soon.
