Cornell ID Numbers

Do you remember your CUID? I do—I was #365729. Say what you will about feeling like a number, but you couldn’t go long on campus without having to produce those six digits.
When we graduated, we each received a new number. We had moved from the student database to that of alumni, corporations, and donors. Last year, our ID numbers changed yet again. This time, it was due to a massive university-wide migration to a PeopleSoft database. (Note: PeopleSoft was founded by alumnus, David Duffield, ‘62, MBA ‘64, and generous donor of the newest engineering building on campus.)
So my advice to you: take that number, write it down on a little slip of paper, and tape it underneath the inside of your desk drawer—no one will ever think to look there! Or better yet, write it on an old twenty dollar bill, and mail it to your class webmaster for safe keeping.
